Welcome to Gentle Kindness Counselling With Michelle Lumley.

Let’s Talk About What’s Going On.

Who do I work with?

  •  I work with people who have spent periods of their lives feeling different.
  • Knowing what the world expects from them but struggling with overwhelm and anxiety whilst trying to be consistent at work and in relationships.

What might life be like for them currently?

  • If you find yourself easily annoyed, sad or constantly feeling overwhelmed; maybe with a sense that you are not sure who you are underneath the people pleasing.  I might be the right counsellor for you.

  • I help people all over the world confused and overwhelmed, who are exhausted trying to fit in or please others.  I help them rediscover themselves without feeling like they have to change jobs, end relationships to find peace.  (If you choose to do this it’s because you discovered for yourself that they don’t really work for you.)

Special Interest - ADHD, AuDHD

  •  As a counsellor I have a special interest in neurodiversity, I support individuals  in exploring, acknowledging, and deeply understanding how ADHD can show up in daily lives and relationships.   I offer this to anyone with or without a formal diagnosis.
  • Please note: I do not diagnose
  • ADHD elements which might frequently appear, as unhelpful patterns, might be demand avoidance, rejection sensitivity or parent-child relationship roles; all can be explored.
  • By bringing clarity to how ADHD impacts a relational dynamic, we work to externalize these destructive cycles of behaviour rather than placing blame.

Focus can also be given to the tools needed to dismantle frustration and resentment, whilst building clearer communication channels.

If you feel this might be what you’re are looking for please do get in touch.

What Makes Gentle Kindness Different?

  •  We find you by talking and discovering old wounds and fears that are not helping you be yourself and by also identifying the real moments of you that you have experienced in your life.  In short, discovering what feels good and what doesn’t.

  • I offer confidence and communication building skills and techniques during our work together.  You will also learn for yourself how to share with others what good looks like for you.

  • Working with me on-line takes time and it can challenge your beliefs about yourself, especially those that keep you repeating behaviours that are frustrating.

  • We will know when to end our work when your inner voice is yours not someone else’s. The end is finding a place with reduced anxiety, reduced overwhelm and knowing how to share what you need.

  • I don’t follow a formula, I follow you.  That’s what makes you feel more like you used to, when things felt more manageable.

  • If this resonates with you please do get in touch.  I work flexible hours and across the world.

Let’s Make This Work for You

Our sessions together will be all about you. We’ll explore what’s important to you, and I’ll listen closely. There’s no rush—no need to have all the answers or be “perfect.” This is your time to talk about what’s going on and what you want to focus on.

  • One-hour      online sessions—from the comfort of your own home
  • Flexible      scheduling so we can work around your life
  • Short-term      or long-term therapy—whatever feels right for you

I Work With People Who Are Facing:

Anxiety, panic, or stress

Depression and low mood

Grief and loss

Life changes or transitions

Relationship issues

Feeling stuck or overwhelmed

Whatever you’re going through, we can explore it together. You don’t have to face things alone.

Client feedback

I’m so grateful for the support and care I’ve received from my Michelle. She is incredibly kind, understanding, and compassionate, and always makes me feel heard and comfortable during our sessions. Her patience, guidance, and genuine empathy have made such a positive difference in my life, and I truly appreciate the safe and supportive space she creates. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and professional therapist.

Such a lovely and supportive woman, who makes you feel like you’re talking to a friend with no judgement who gives great advice but also is an active and caring listener.

“Michelle has been very conscientious, insightful and very approachable.  Michelle has been great at making sense of the confusing, even to me, stream of consciousness and thoughts that I share with her.  I’ve felt very comfortable sharing and being open and honest in response to questions I have been asked, all whilst not feeling judged.  I’ve felt heard and understood and also very much supported.”
